It's already stated in the books, comics and even the shows that the flood was the ultimate enemy which brought the forerunner race down. No race was bad enough to force the forerunners to activate halo seeing that it was a final resort. Instead of the devs bringing in a new half baked enemy which made no sense nor any proper introduction, they should've have just stayed with the flood and banished as the 2 major super enemies....

I stand by with the last good halo being reach. 4 was ok but felt to different to be halo and we don't mention the next one. I waited for a few years after infinite had been out a while to get all the little details sorted b4 giving it a chance because it looked like a possible return to true halo form and while on the surface it looks and sounds like halo it doesn't feel or draw u in like halo. The artwork and music pass, gameplay and story flopped. Halo died years ago when bungie left, time to move on
